Time
We constantly waste it although we love it. The better it is, the less attention we pay to it. On occasions we forget about it completely but nevertheless we do not wish to lose it. And all the while that we are trying to keep up with it, this elusive phenomenon succeeds in escaping us. Only those who are permanently ahead of it can last it out. We really should once again learn to grab this precious commodity with both hands. The problem is that others have to be prepared to give it to us. We always hope it will get better, yet nevertheless miss the way it was when it is over. When it is snatched from us, we spend hours imagining what we could do with it, if only we had it. Then when we do have it, we do not seem to be able to exploit it fully. And even if we want it to improve, we still hope that we can retain at least some of its old traits. But one thing is sure: despite its infinity, we can never get enough of it.
